Rocket

by Cherry Thatcher - 19:56 on 29 November 2017

WOW!  As we are coming to the end of year, I’m looking back on what has been our busiest season yet.  There have been so many lovely wedding ceremonies and all so different. So, I thought I would tell you about just a few of the unusual and funny things that we have seen this year…

Our very first wedding was at back in April. Sophie and Jamie had chosen the beautiful Chateau de Labro near Rodez in the Aveyron as their venue.  We arrived to find that Sophie would be arriving at the ceremony on the front steps of the chateau, in Her Dad’s lovely old vintage MG sports car, having been driven round from the rear of the main chateau and up the tree lined avenue – out of site of the guests.

The couple had chosen to light a unity candle in their ceremony, but what we didn’t know was what Jamie had in mind as a surprise!   He had hidden a metal parasol base behind the hedge at the side of the steps and placed an enormous sky rocket in it.

Later after taking their vows, Sophie and Jamie lit the candle of Unity from their two individual candles. Then to everyone’s surprise and causing a lot of laughter, they disappeared with the candle behind the hedge!

Suddenly as they stepped back into sight there was a loud bang the rocket whooshed skywards forming a perfect arc over our heads.  What a way to seal their vows.

I was really amazed to find I had captured the rocket launch when I looked at my photos later!!
